The municipality of Soto del Real is located 42 kilometres from Madrid, at the foot of the famous ridge area known as Cuerda Larga, in the Southern part of the mountainous region of the Sierra de Guadarrama. The area rises from 2,100 m above sea level near La Najarra peak to 900 m in its Southern part.
